I am a 14-year-old girl who has endured a lifetime of experience. With my fresh bottle of ink and a new Big Chief tablet, I want to tell you a story about when I was born into poverty and despair on one of the coldest nights in December 1924 at midnight. Born in a city dump in a one-room stone building on the outskirts of New York City, lying on discarded cardboard and wrapped in rags. With all these extremely difficult beginnings, one finds a way to survive.

     The Bronx in New York was my address until 1927 at thirteen years old, when my parents put me in a wayward home for girls. At sixteen, I ran away and found the streets as my residence. While begging for food, Mr. Cole offered me a warm place, decent food, and a friendly conversation. How could a homeless young lady say no? Except by taking his offer, it could result in a loss of all my self-respect.

This is my true life memoir.

 I grew up the son of a Preacher Cop who was brutally murdered and died on my 10^th birthday, on Good Friday. I survived life, abused and alone. Even after being in over 30 foster homes growing up, I managed to pull my life together. Through my life's journeys, I managed to become the best at what I achieved.  I went from scooping poop from cattle trucks to a retired Professor and Director of Technology at a major university.

“Synopsis" This is a story about a real midwestern town that actually became extinct. I always wondered what makes a town go extinct. So, I filled in the blanks.   This town started out hustling and bustling as a local farming and outdoor sporting community. Life was great as families grew. Population gained. Business was good.  UNTIL those strangers came to town.  For example, when the two transients rolled into town on the railroad rails with a handcart. These two hobos, bum of guys, rolled into town for one reason and one reason only. To con the hell out of everyone in the town before making a quick getaway.   Then there was the Arsonist, the Hunter, the Fake Farmer, and the High School Gym Teacher. These and many other strangers changed this town into the lost city of Lily.
